My concept for the Henderson Art Project is to create an image that celebrates the Imagination.
I use bold colors in my work, with high contrast values, which I believe will make the image interesting and easily viewable from the road.
This image will have a similar look as a large mural I completed last year at a library (seen below), with a female figure central to the composition. However, instead of only having a 2-D surface, I want to a three 3-D element to the “canvas.” I would create the illusion of depth by adding a ¾” cut-out, that extends past the background wood panel about 4 or 5”. This cut-out would be attached to the front of the main wood surface, and painted to add dimension to the art work.
